It’s a story you have to hear for yourself to understand the depth and emotion. I can almost guarantee you’ll be crying again by the end of this post, but you’ll have to be the one to let me know. These two met halfway across the country at a fishing tournament, and I guess you could say Chase knew she was a catch right from the beginning. Just not the catch he was expecting to get on that trip. He assumed she was probably from across the country, and here he was, headed back to WA. But come to find out, these two grew up only a few HOURS away from each other. I may not have all the details right, but one thing I can say with full assurance is that these two are special. I’ve never met another couple like them. The true, deep, and unconditional love that these two have for each other. It’s absolutely apparent that from all that they have walked through together, the trials and victories and celebrations, the challenging days and days of disappointment. These two have weathered storms and seen the grace of God abound. And through that, their story has been written and it’s such a beautiful one. I’m so blessed to have been a part of such a special, tearful, and joyful celebration of their marriage.

I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous the morning of the wedding. I knew it was going to be an outdoor, mountain wedding and I knew there wasn’t going to be any cell reception, but as I kept driving and asphalt roads turned to gravel and eventually dirt, I started to wonder, “where am I going!?” And that’s when I arrived to THE most romantic setting in the entire world. Mackenzi’s dad had built their ceremony site from cut logs and Chase and Mackenzi built the most beautiful cross as the backdrop for their ceremony. The reception was up the hill just a bit, a scene right from any bride’s dream. Edison bulb lights were strung from tree to tree, creating such a romantic ambience. And because these two have a life dedicated to bass fishing, it was only fitting that the beverages were filling an old canoe. Long wood tables topped with freshly potted herbs and twinkly lights completed the setting. Ah, I wish you were there to experience it yourself!! Chase & Mackenzi, thank you for giving me the greatest privilege and honor in getting to know you both a little bit better. Your wedding was one of a kind. I’ll never forget every special moment during the toasts and the moment Chase saw his bride walking down the aisle. I get goosebumps every time I look at the images.
