when Jesus invites us on an adventure,
He shapes who we become with what happens along the way.
Hello dear friend! Thanks so much for stopping by. I should start by saying I'm a fine art photographer, but what I'm going to say is this. Life can be hard. It's full of ups and downs, victories and heartbreaks. But one thing I can say for sure is that my God is steadfast. All that I am and all that I do is because of His great grace. I'm a wife and mommy to the cutest blonde haired, brown eyed baby girl you'll ever meet, Niyah Jane. I love my hottie husband with my whole heart and most nights you can find us outside gardening (more like admiring our plant babies), walking our neighborhood, or cooking dinner together. We love doing projects around our home and well, I like vacuuming every day (guilty).
I wish I could take the credit for this business, but really, my mom is the one who has been my biggest cheerleader. We photographed our first wedding together in 2010. From there, a non profit organization for creatives emerged, and so did Emily Moller Photography. She's my very best friend and the best Mimi I could ever hope for. Doing what I love, I've been able to travel the country and photograph destination weddings and thriving restaurants, incredible families and couples in love. But more than that, I've built lasting relationships with clients who are now dear friends, and that's what matters most to me. I feel so blessed to spend each day doing what I love. I wish I could invite you over for dinner tonight and hear more about your story. I can guarantee you'd get a full dose of baby kisses and you'd leave with a full tummy. I can't wait to get to know you!
But let's be honest. That doesn't happen very often with a baby. Most mornings start early, oh, like between five and six. I now understand why my mom would lock herself in the bathroom for an hour every morning when I was growing up...mama's gotta do what mama's gotta do :)
My Niyah Jane. My little ball of personality. There is nothing more special than being a mommy. And there is nothing that can prepare you for the love you have for your own children. Even on the days where I feel like all I do is change diapers and say, "no no, don't touch that," it's worth it for her precious giggles and big smiles and how she crawls all over the house babbling "mamamama, dadadada, uh ohhhh"
It's almost unhealthy, really. Everyone who knows me knows I love vacuum lines and sparkly appliances. I have a daily routine of "10 minute refreshing" once Niyah goes down for her nap. It helps me be more productive in my office when my view is of a tidy living room! I just say there are worse things to be addicted to ;) for me, it's cleaning, ha!
Really. It's been a little over two years, and I still pinch myself that he chose me. There are days that are hard, days that I really just want a break, moments where I have to bite my tongue and so many times where I say I'm sorry. But at the end of the day, getting to live life and laugh and share meals and make the sweetest memories with my best friend? It's a dream come true. And he's really dang hot too ;)
Born and raised just outside Lake Chelan, Washington, a vacation destination for so many, this part of the Northwest is well...home. I live in a part of the state now where it rains a lot, just a little north of Portland...but I will forever have a heart for the country life.
Yep, so I'm one of those moms. :) I'm not ashamed...in fact, it's really exciting creating a lifestyle and space for our Niyah girl to grow up and be able to help mommy with cleaning and have the tools necessary to help with owies. :) We drink all the citrus oils in our water during the day around here, and diffuse oils for energy boosting and cleaning the air. And did I mention the lavender wool dryer balls in the laundry? Hello, yummy smelling clothes! <3
I could go on about this for days. Delight & Be is a non profit organization started by someone so very dear to me - even though she wouldn't take credit. My mom's obedience to Jesus in this has been so inspiring. You can learn more over on the website, but Delight is for young women in the creative fields - from photography to culinary arts. Retreats are hosted in the Pacific Northwest and take place throughout the year. Visit the website to learn more and to join <3
my little Niyah Jane, and the man who made me a mommy. Nathan and Niyah, you two have my heart forever and ever. Loving you each day is a privilege and a gift. Watching you two laugh together will always be one of my favorite things to do. My life changed forever the day I became his wife on May 30, 2015, and again on August 29, 2016. Two days I will never forget.
My mom is right. I could put a bed right in the middle of a grocery store and feel like I'm right at home. It's my second favorite place to be, besides home. I'll wander the aisles for hours just to find a good deal, but more than that, I care about good food. You know what they say, good food is like good medicine. I believe it all starts with good nutrition.
My mama taught me well. Bubble baths are my escape. They're my place to decompress. My husband knows I need my nightly bubble bath with good smelling candles :)
I live in the Northwest. Isn't that like the mecca of coffee? ;) I'm a short drive from the Stumptown Coffee headquarters, and I may have spent a few years behind the bar at Starbucks making espresso, so I guess it's only natural for me to love a good iced espresso with a splash of cream. And on those days where I need a little extra somethin...a little white chocolate usually does the trick ;)
