Feel free to cozy up with your favorite beverage (if you're like me, then maybe it's an espresso over ice with a splash of cream, or a warm matcha latte if it's cold outside!) and stay awhile. This is my place to share not just beautiful weddings or sessions, but to share my life. My hope is through this, you'll get to know a bit more about me and all the beautiful people that make it worth living!

Morgan and Ashleigh | Beecher Hill House Wedding

I thought 1 Corinthians 13  did a pretty good job defining love and its act, that was, up until I witnessed Morgan and Ashleigh’s relationship. Living long distance for a majority of their relationship, in Washington and in Canada, these two displayed patience, joy, hope, and pure LOVE with poise. 1 Corinthians 13 says, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.”

I really can’t explain love. I could spend hours trying to form words to describe the act of love and how it is displayed through sacrifice, giving, selflessness, and forgiveness. But I think Morgan and Ashleigh will do a better job for me. All that is to say, after countless meetings over Starbucks and planning together, it was a complete privilege to capture this priceless day. It was by grace that my camera didn’t die from tears of joy falling from my face as I witnessed these two becoming one!

A proposal in Scotland at the top of the castle was just the beginning of the extravagant love these two have for one another. Morgan leads, and Ashleigh follows. Morgan sacrifices, and Ashleigh serves. On the day of their wedding, Ashleigh gave Morgan the most precious gift of a journal. Filled with hopes and dreams, filled with love letters and prayers to him that had been written throughout their whole relationship. The last entry was titled, “Our wedding day–the day is finally here!” And through tears and joy, these two were united as Mr. and Mrs. Barendregt!

(And we just received the news that a little baby B is on his or her way to be joining their family next year!) We can’t wait to meet him or her! ;)

xoxo,

Emily
