Feel free to cozy up with your favorite beverage (if you're like me, then maybe it's an espresso over ice with a splash of cream, or a warm matcha latte if it's cold outside!) and stay awhile. This is my place to share not just beautiful weddings or sessions, but to share my life. My hope is through this, you'll get to know a bit more about me and all the beautiful people that make it worth living!
I remember when Julie called me this past winter and told me about her and David and their wedding plans that I just had to find a way to be there. We were only about 90 seconds into our conversation when I thought to myself, “She’s someone I want to be friends with.” And when she started describing her relationship with David to me, I was sold. They’ve walked through it all together, and well…biked and swam and ran too.
You see, these two aren’t just any ordinary couple. They’re powerhouse athletes who travel the world to compete in triathlons and completely crush them! As I was watching the slideshow play during their reception, I couldn’t help but notice my jaw dropping a little closer to the floor each time I saw pictures of them competing. And not just competing, but competing and training together. They’re a team. And they understand what it means to be one together and to complement each other’s weaknesses and build up one another’s strengths.
In February, these two got married at a quaint little courthouse and sealed their vows, but waited until the most perfect spring evening in one of their favorite places in the world, Lake Chelan, to celebrate with their family and friends. It was…perfect. There’s really no other way to describe it.
A warm breeze, a trolley ride to the top of the vineyard where they shared a pink champagne toast with their guests and laughed as they reminisced over sweet memories. An endless dinner of perfectly seared steaks and strawberry spinach salads, classic vinyl records playing as they mingled during cocktail hour, and Seattle Chocolates to seal the entire night together in one sweet bite. And Karma Vineyards…they completely wowed everyone with the romantic atmosphere, incredible food, the sweetest service you’ll ever get and they understand exactly what it means to be family. I couldn’t have been more honored or privileged to be there to capture it all and meet their families.
Glade, Roth, and Cook families, you are a gift to so many people, and I’m so honored I’m one of the ones to experience just a glimpse of the joy you have. Thank you so much for choosing me to be there to celebrate with you and share in this sweet evening together!!!
Here’s to many more triathlons, victories, training days for competitions and in marriage, and for days of celebration. You two are incredible!!
Joy. These two have it. <3
