So many of you may think “Oh she must just photograph weddings”. And while that’s partially true, especially during the peak of wedding season, I do offer a limited number senior and family sessions, especially during my favorite time of year which happens to be oh, right now!!! I mean how can you NOT love fall!? Brisk mornings, cool enough temperatures for layers and chunky sweaters, steaming mugs of hot cider, the familiar sound of football games on the TV, curling up on the couch to read in the evening because the sun sets just a little bit earlier, and of course, endless courses of soup because fall = soup season, and THAT alone is reason to love this time of year!!! I mean, a lot of those things I mentioned are things I dream about, because I have a one year old who keeps my days FAR busier than I ever imagined. We’ve got stairs to climb and toys to build, books to read and food we’re learning to not throw off the plate. ahh, parenthood. It’s so much more glamorous than I imagined. #allsarcasm

BUT, one thing that IS true is how much more rewarding it is than I could have ever dreamed off. I can’t exactly imagine what it would feel like as a parent to have your oldest child in their senior year of HIGH SCHOOL, but I can imagine it’s not easy! It’s probably so very bittersweet. And for Shelby’s family, I know they are so incredibly proud of her and the beautiful, confident, driven woman she is!! I know I would be! We spent the evening together this past week at one of my favorite not-so-hidden locations in north Vancouver, a place that never disappoints, no matter the season!

I know without a doubt in my mind that this girl is going to go places and do so many big things and I am so excited to watch her succeed and thrive!!! I’m so honored to have photographed her in this season of her life! Being a senior is no joke, I remember it like it was yesterday!! So many unknowns for the future, yet there’s a sense of excitement and thrill and a little bit of “this is kind of scary” mixed in. Haha! Shelby, you are beautiful!!! Thank you so much for being brave and climbing through the bushes with me for “the shot“, which happened to be every shot, haha!!! I’m so excited for you to graduate!
