Feel free to cozy up with your favorite beverage (if you're like me, then maybe it's an espresso over ice with a splash of cream, or a warm matcha latte if it's cold outside!) and stay awhile. This is my place to share not just beautiful weddings or sessions, but to share my life. My hope is through this, you'll get to know a bit more about me and all the beautiful people that make it worth living!
I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was sitting on the couch feeding our then-two-week old baby when my husband spoke the words that have since changed our life. “We need to move to Chelan.” I’m pretty sure my response was a combination of “I’m sorry, what? Uhhh? When? Why?” And now, here we are. But let me give you a few details and MY expectations for moving. ;) One of which was :
I CAN’T MOVE TO CHELAN UNTIL THERE’S AN AMAZING COFFEE SHOP. (I was only kind of joking)…..
And then it happened. I got the text from my family that said, “You guys have to check out this new place that just opened when you visit next!” (They didn’t know we were planning to tell them OUR crazy news).
So there you have it. It’s like all those fine, tiny details that God knew I needed fell into place and He’s already provided above and beyond here in this community that we’ve started calling home in the past few months.
And speaking of home, Kave Roaster and Bakery, Chelan’s newest coffee shop boasting with homemade Hungarian pastries and hand-roasted espresso makes it feel just like that. Home. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and classic, clean aesthetic, I can pretty much guarantee from your first, second, third, 100th visit you’ll never want to stop coming back. Seriously. It’s my favorite little home away from home. Pretty sure you can find us there at least a few times a week. Not only have owners, Mick & Eva, hired incredible employees that are dear friends, but they themselves have become such a special part of the Chelan community. They’re creating a space for creatives and for conversation through their high end service and classy atmosphere. I could go on and on for days, but Chelan truly has scored with this local business that is becoming a place for building relationships, getting “away” to unwind and clear your head with a vanilla cold brew or iced golden latte, and take a deep breath and watch sunset from their outdoor patio.
Every morning you can find their pastry case filled with warm scones and gluten free carrot cake, a handcrafted quiche or rich brownies, or any other pastries made with local, organic ingredients. We’re always greeted by the greatest baristas in the world…maybe I’m biased but I just love all of them so much!! Every time we walk in, Niyah runs straight to “our” table… and that’s just it. Mick and Eva have curated this space from it’s gorgeous windows to rich leather seating, their locally roasted espresso and desire to serve organic, non-GMO products. It’s a rare find and I’m SO thankful to be a part of the Kave community!! Having this privilege of photographing what they’re creating…it’s the best opportunity ever!! Places like Kave make being a brand photographer and creative stylist SO incredibly rewarding!!!
Allllsooo…their coffee? SO GOOD! And their iced teas!? SO GOOD. It’s all perfect. Seriously. Any day or every day or all day is a perfect day to go hang, and chances are (about to quote our favorite book)…IF you give Niyah a cookie, THEN she’ll want a “toffee” from Kave to go with it ;)
Enjoy this peek into Chelan’s newest and most incredible space, Kave Roaster & Bakery!
