I wish I could have pulled up a photo of her holding me when I was just a toddler, but that photo is probably glued to the page of a 1990’s scrapbook page, I’m sure. For as long as I can remember, she’s always had the biggest heart full of passion and sincerity. She’s always had the most contagious giggle and she wrinkles her nose when she laughs. She’s displayed integrity and courage, and has been the most incredible mom to Duncan – the one who also got his momma’s passionate spirit.

Watching this beautiful bride grow as a gifted hair stylist, a phenomenal mom, and a loyal friend has been one of the biggest privileges in the entire world. I remember taking family photos of their entire family several years ago thinking, I can’t wait until she’s engaged, because I secretly want to be there to capture the entire thing!

So when she called me to say, “I’M ENGAGED!” I’m pretty sure I said congratulations and I was SO excited, but I know I was thinking “It’s about time!”

When we climbed up mountains last fall for the most beautiful engagement photos, I just couldn’t WAIT for this day to come! I’m pretty sure I’ve been just as excited as them!

Carl and Megan have the kind of love that everyone dreams of. They serve each other with such tenderness and sincerity, and they romance and pursue each other with such a playful curiosity. They made vows to not just each other, but also to Duncan, and on April 11th 2015, they vowed to become a family. Carl leads their family with so much strength and loyalty, and Megan supports with such courage and stability. And Duncan. There will never be enough words to describe what a curious zeal this boy has for life. He’s spirited, joyful, confident, adventurous, funny, and every bit boy. And I’ll be his biggest cheerleader the day he becomes a train conductor, because trains and Duncan are just a match made in heaven. He’s just shy of six with a sparkle in his eye and well…he did tell me he loves taking pictures, so I’ll cross my fingers for a future assistant ;)

Carl and Megan, you two are so, so perfect for each other and I’m so honored to have been invited into document your wedding day!!! I hope Costa Rica was full of romantic sunsets and sandy beaches!

All of the decor was done by Megan’s mom who owns the most INCREDIBLE store – and the best part? She does wedding rentals too!

How clever is THIS!? Even Krispy Kreme made a debut at the wedding!

Megan and her brother tore up the dance floor – I’m pretty sure I took a thousand photos of dancing alone!
