Feel free to cozy up with your favorite beverage (if you're like me, then maybe it's an espresso over ice with a splash of cream, or a warm matcha latte if it's cold outside!) and stay awhile. This is my place to share not just beautiful weddings or sessions, but to share my life. My hope is through this, you'll get to know a bit more about me and all the beautiful people that make it worth living!
I don’t even know where to start with words that are adequate enough to describe my love for Karl and Brittney and their wedding day. First of all, they chose a place hours away from the city they call home to serve as the place to start their MARRIAGE and I couldn’t have been more thrilled for several reasons. One being that it was Lake Chelan! I arrived to her presidential suite overlooking the lake on the most perfect September morning. She was sipping a mimosa out of personalized glasses and was standing on the balcony watching her almost-husband out on the lake. I’ve never seen a wedding morning more magical. Her bridesmaids and her all wore custom outfits that were beyond anything I’d ever seen!!! You’re going to love it!
Karl and Brittney got married at Shadow Mountain Events, a venue that is near and dear to my heart! I would spend every weekend there if I could! It’s tucked right into the mountains, surrounded by fruit orchards. Imagine having your very own space for the night to celebrate. Ahh. It’s perfect. Surrounded by their incredible families and sweet friends, these two said “I do” with vows unlike any I’d ever heard!!! I wish I could listen to them on repeat over and over.
But before I keep telling you all the swoon-worthy details of their wedding day, let me just share a little bit about these two.
Brittney. I remember my very first email conversation with her over a year ago, which led to an hour+ phone conversation where she told me about her proposal on Lake Washington. I’m pretty sure I was whispering under my breath, “Please let me be a part of their wedding day, please let me be a part of their wedding day,”. I just knew I couldn’t miss it! I was captivated by Brittney’s bubbly personality and her love for those around her. She’s driven and incredibly successful, not to mention absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Planning for their wedding day was a dream. As a pharmacist, we kept in touch as she kept me in the loop of all things related to her job. You guys, I learned so much!! I wish with all my heart the two of us could get together on a weekly basis for coffee just to stay in touch…sometimes I wish distance didn’t exist!
And Karl. I remember the first time I met Karl…it was exactly 72 hours prior to their wedding, and I’ve never felt so welcomed. He and Brittney light up a room when they’re together. He’s tenderhearted and absolutely one of the kindest men I have ever met, not to mention he promised a teary first-look. Come on, that’s like the jackpot for ANY photographer! ;) When I pulled into the resort where they were getting ready, I parked near a BMW that made any other car just look well…bad. Come to find out, that was Karl’s ride and ah, it was then that I knew he had good taste. Well, I really knew he had good taste when I saw the ring he chose for Brittney, and the fact that he chose Brittney to be his bride forever!
Karl and Brittney, thank you a million times for inviting me into your life, into your story, and into the beginning of your marriage together as husband and wife. I couldn’t be more excited for you two, and to be on this journey of marriage together!!! Marriage looks phenomenal on you two ;) I hope with all my heart you’re enjoying tonight and this little honeymoon getaway to Portland! Have a drink or two, and share a little cheers + toast to your precious marriage. Embrace the little things and don’t take life too seriously. What was that little phrase spoken during your toasts? “You guys are like a shooting star heading right to success.”
I’d say that’s just about right. :) Except I’d say the fact that you chose each other and vowed to walk through all of life together is already a victory!!! If I could share one little piece of advice that my husband and I have learned, enter into each other’s worlds. Share in each other’s joys and triumphs, trials and challenges. Every single day is an adventure and a joy because you learn just a little bit more about your spouse.
I love you two more than words!!! Counting down the days until we can share in a rooftop dinner overlooking Portland <3
